There are few things I know of that have as many uses as coconut oil does. This list only scratches the surface of ways that you can use this magic oil. If you aren’t using coconut oil as part of your daily routine, you really should be!
Cooking
Coconut oil is great to cook with, especially compared to olive oil, as it has a higher smoke point. This means that you can make stir fries and sauté without worrying about whether or not your oil will get too hot and start to break down. Coconut oil works well with fish, chicken or veggies.
Eye Makeup Remover
Our eyes are extremely fragile and prone to irritation. Coconut oil works well and doesn’t come with any of the pesky side effects. Simply dip your cotton ball or paper towel in a bit of coconut oil and rub. Your makeup will be off in no time and you skin smooth and supple.
Coffee “Creamer”
The “bulletproof coffee” trend has certainly taken off. While you can find some pre-made versions out there, you can also easily make it home. Simply combine 8-12oz of coffee with 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil and 1-2 tablespoons of grass-fed, unsalted butter or ghee in a blender and mix for 20-30 seconds until foamy. If you are new to bulletproof coffee, we recommend starting with a little less oil and butter/ghee and work your way up to 1-2 tablespoons.
Skin and Face Lotion
If you aren’t into generic lotions with additives, preservatives and scents, coconut oil is an amazing alternative. Keep a jar in your bathroom and use it like you would your regular body or face lotion!
Deep Conditioner
If you're looking for a deep hair conditioner that's chemical-free, look no further! Coconut oil can help dry, split ends and bring softness back to your hair thanks to its bountiful medium chain triglycerides.
Enjoy!
