Every year, The Environmental Working Group (EWG) releases a list of 12 foods called the “Dirty Dozen” that are most likely to contain pesticides, and 15 foods called the "Clean Fifteen" that are least likely to contain pesticides. We brought you the Dirty Dozen a few weeks ago and now, on a more positive note, we bring you the Clean Fifteen! When possible, we always recommend buying organic, but if you have to pick and choose, these are the fruits and veggies that are usually OK to buy conventional.
Here's the EWG's 2015 list of the Clean Fifteen:
- Avocados
- Sweet Corn*
- Pineapples
- Cabbage
- Sweet Peas
- Onions
- Asparagus
- Mangos
- Papayas*
- Kiwi
- Eggplant
- Grapefruit
- Cantaloupe
- Cauliflower
- Sweet Potatoes
