The best thing you can do to make sure you're well-fueled for your workouts is to eat high-quality, nutrient dense meals regularly. What you put into your body right before a workout has little impact compared to what you eat on a regular basis! You don't necessarily need to take in energy right before a workout to have energy during a workout, especially if it's a short one.
